Driving
Roads are reasonably good between the resorts with the main road from Kos Town to the airport and Kefalos being the only one you could reasonably call busy. You will under no circumstances face a problem finding a taxi but also be aware that taxis fares are fixed and reasonable.
Transport
There is a wide range of tourist trains (ktel) which will give you the chance the to meet the island at a round trip of Kos Town . The Kos Town buses (DEAS) run routes around the town while KTEL buses take you everywhere else. Buses are frequent to the main resorts. The main bus station is in Kos Town, on Kleopatras Street and you can buy your tickets are bought on the bus .

For every need that may arise, the Tourist Police is the organization best equipped to be of assistance, whether it be for general information, for dealing with a financial matter, for legal problems or for anything else. The offices are at Akti Kounduioti, next to Town Hall.

Kos has branches of most Greek banks which work in cooperation with the most important foreign and international banks and you will find a wide display of ATM’s spread all over the centre town area at your disposal. .
Post Office
The Post office on Kos has a full network of branches as well as other places under contract at which you can send or receive letters and postal money orders and make use of all the modern postal services. Be aware that the main offices of ELTA (The Greek Post Office) are on Xanthou Street.
Language
Greek is the official language of the island , but the majority of the locals speak English fluently even if their hospitality most of the times overcomes any potential communication problems that might occur.
